MAC Dupe!

DUPES!

So, because we all just love dupes, I thought I would share this since the actual lipstick is no longer available at MAC Cosmetics.

This is a dupe for MAC's "Talk That Talk, " which was part of the Riri Hearts Collection which debuted in 2013 around the holidays.  It was a limited edition and a lot of the products sold out rather quickly.  I didn't act fast enough and missed out :(
Although I knew the collection would be kind of a big deal.

On with the program......
This is actually a dupe using all MAC products.
What I used:  MACs lip pencil in "Nightmoth & MACs lipstick "Primrose" from the Proenza Schouler Collection.  This is another one of MACs limited edition collections, so get it while it lasts!!!

Getting the look:  Using the Nightmoth lip pencil, line your lips. Then fill in your entire lip with the pencil.  Use Primrose on top and there you have it.  It is NOT matte as talk that talk is. It does seem to be buildable.  The more liner and lipstick you use the darker it will be. (My lips were a whole lot darker, but that was not the look I was going for so I blotted it some)  Primrose is a lustre so it gives you a bit of a wet, glossy look, but it is also sheer. The liner is where most of the color is coming from.

Hope you enjoyed :)

Sambuca

Foodie Review!
This past weekend I went to a restaurant in uptown Dallas, Sambuca!
We made reservations, which can be made online. This is a good thing due to the fact we were late and they allow you to make changes to the reservations online as well.  The atmosphere was very chill and laid back with low lighting.  There is a small dance floor as well as a live band present & the crowd was somewhat of a mixture.

What I ordered................

I ordered the "Flat Iron" which also included mashed sweet potatoes, green beans,
and mac & cheese (not pictured).  I would rate the food 6 out of 10. The mashed sweet potatoes & mac & cheese were wonderful.  The green beans were not my favorite only because I tend to like more of a sweeter taste.  Now for the most important part of the meal.....the steak! I ordered my steak well done which was my first mistake.  I should have ordered it medium well as I normally do. The steak was very charred as pictured above and was not as tender as I would have liked.  The part of the steak that was not charred had a very good taste.  I think I just used poor judgment when placing my order.
All in all I would go back to this restaurant again.  It kind of has a romantic feel and would be perfect for date night! It's also a nice place to go for a nice girls night out! I like to try things a few times before I rule it completely out.  I definitely would go back just to be in the atmosphere.

New Sunnies!

Hello lovelies!
Just wanted to show all of you my new favorite frames!

I purchased these from Sonyabeeboutique.com.  I ran across this boutique on instagram. I absolutely love these.  I love the shape, color......I just love everything about them! Also they were very affordable amongst many other items on the site.
The shipping was fairly quick as well which is always good.

If anyone wants to know what lippie I'm wearing, its "Viva Glam II"  with "Right Image" cremesheen lipglass on top, both by MAC. When it comes too lipsticks I am a sucker for nudes!
Anywho, check out this website! She has so many cute, affordable items.

Raw Honey & Lemon

I love using natural products! They are so beneficial for many different things.  I use this combination of lemon and raw honey for two very different things.

I use it as a beauty regimen as honey is known to cleanse your skin, tone, heal acne, remove blackheads, and this combination instantly seems to make my skin feel softer.  I simply apply a layer of honey to the lemon and squeeze juice from the lemon and apply it to my face.  I usually apply it before I get in the shower and wash it off in the shower.  I can instantly tell a difference in the softness of my skin.
This can also be used as a moisturizer for your skin, just add some olive or coconut oil to the mixture and apply to your dry skin zones for about 10-15 minutes and rinse.  If you have really dry skin, I would NOT recommend using lemon juice alone.  As it could make your skin dryer than it already is.
Also I've read it you are using lemon juice for your skin and you must be in the sun, be sure to apply sunscreen as you could become more prone to sunburn.

I also use this lemon + honey combo for reducing my allergies.  It is allergy season and raw honey is said to help w/ allergies if you take some everyday. However, it's best if the honey is made locally as the honey should be produced by bees in the same environment in which you live.  By a process called immunotherapy, it's kind of like your vaccinating your body against the allergens. Kind of makes sense to me so I've been using it in hopes it will help rid my body of allergies.  Can't hurt to try.

I'm no expert but I do know what works for me and I also like to try new things as well.  Hope this helps someone.

Ideas, Ideas, and more Ideas

I've been brainstorming so much here lately! I am constantly coming up with new and interesting ideas but sometimes never really act on them.  I'm interested in so many different things, fashion & style, natural beauty products, makeup, food, cooking, travel, photography.....just to name a few of my favorites!

I think a business venture should consist of things you love and enjoy doing, and not just something just to make money.  You have to actually love what you do.

So.......I have come up with another "bright idea" which is also kind of a business venture.  We will see how this goes. I'm always excited when I think of new ideas. . .yay!

New product!

I am in LOVE with these concealers!!! They are LA Girl Pro Conceal. I first heard about them on instagram and there are tons of youtube videos about them.  Some of the youtube gurus even compare them to MAC's pro longwear.  I used MAc's pro longwear some time ago before I even knew what to do with it so I can't really compare the two.

So, the shades I purchased are toast, beautiful bronze, espresso, and chestnut.  I've only used toast and it's perfect to use under my brows and to cover any blemishes.  Its seems to match my skin tone very well. I have not tried any of the other shades yet but what I can say is all the other shades mentioned above appear to be darker than toast. Although, they do look the same in the pic above, they are significantly different.  I will be ordering a few more of the lighter shades to use for a highlight.
Also these can be used for a foundation and appear to be full coverage or "buildable." One tip about these concealers, they tend to dry fairly quickly so if you're using them under your eyes, only do one eye at a time so that you can begin blending right away. Or it WILL dry! They don't seem to be very moisturizing so I probably will not be using them as foundation but who knows it wont hurt to try it out.

I purchased these from ikatehouse for $1.99 each. The shipping was $3.95 and is fairly quick.  I ordered on a Sunday and received my package on a Thursday.

Needless to say, my final thoughts on this product is I love it and would totally recommend to a friend.

A little bit more about me!
God is first and everything else follows. I live in Arkansas. I'm a country girl at heart but I long for living in the city! I'm such a fashion and makeup junkie, but I'm no guru or anything.  Oh and by the way I'm so loving my hair cut! I'm actually pretty shy and reserved until I get to know someone.  So I tend to be able to express myself better through illustration, blogs, and social media. I'm a germophobe! (I think that's how it's spelled :) And I've recently began TRYING to adapt a healthier lifestyle.  So follow my blog & jnstagram as well at @my_instaglams. I can be pretty interesting too sometimes.

Daily Look

What I use for a quick look with a hint of color on the cheeks!
MAC’s Studio Moisture Tint
MAC’s Sheertone Shimmer Blush in “sweet as cocoa”
Maybelline’s “the falsies” mascara
I am in LOVE with this moisture tint! My skin is dry so it does moisturize. It doesn’t give you that heavy feeling which is also great b/c of the humidity where I live. It offers minimal coverage but I do believe you can build it “some”.
The blush is my daily “go to” blush.  It is great on my skin tone for a neutral look.  I AM a BROWN GIRL :)
The falsies mascara….I cannot say enough about it.  You can get it at any drugstore, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, just about anywhere. I actually purchased mine at Walgreens. It was buy one get one half off (any Maybelline product). You can actually see my lashes when I put this on whereas normally you cant. This is the ONLY mascara I’ve used so far that gives me the results I want!

Sooooooo.........I decided to ditch the natural hair idea (for now) and chop it all off!!! I am relaxed now of course and I'm fairly happy with my decision. I can always add if I feel the need to. I feel so free now! Yaaassss honey!
