Skincare Skincare Skincare!

I had to take a moment to rant about my new skincare products! Ole Henriksen's "walnut complexion scrub". I've been using this for a few weeks now and it literally makes my skin feel like butter!!!!
My old skincare regimen consisted only of unscented Dove soap. (The ONLY soap I use.) Cleansers always seemed to bring on breakouts. Only issue is, soap tends to make my already dry skin more dry.
My new skincare regimen consists of washing my face with Clinique's mild cleansing facial soap which is "supposed to be" used as a 3 step process. But, being the little rebel that I am, I opt to only use the cleanser. I probably only use this every other day but especially on days when I wear makeup. I don't want to completely freak my skin out! However, I do use this cleanser before I use the scrub just to make sure I have a clean face. Now on to the exfoliating scrub.....
The smell is absolutely amazing. I use this ONCE weekly on a clean face. I cleanse my face first so that I can exfoliate the actual skin and not the makeup and dirt that's left on the skin after a long work day. It leaves your skin feeling so soft afterwards without the dryness you get with some cleansers. I've also found that my foundation goes on so much smoother afterwards. You can purchase this at Sephora. And a little really does go a long way! I'm looking forward to trying other products by Ole Henriksen.

Raw Honey & Lemon

I love using natural products! They are so beneficial for many different things.  I use this combination of lemon and raw honey for two very different things.

I use it as a beauty regimen as honey is known to cleanse your skin, tone, heal acne, remove blackheads, and this combination instantly seems to make my skin feel softer.  I simply apply a layer of honey to the lemon and squeeze juice from the lemon and apply it to my face.  I usually apply it before I get in the shower and wash it off in the shower.  I can instantly tell a difference in the softness of my skin.
This can also be used as a moisturizer for your skin, just add some olive or coconut oil to the mixture and apply to your dry skin zones for about 10-15 minutes and rinse.  If you have really dry skin, I would NOT recommend using lemon juice alone.  As it could make your skin dryer than it already is.
Also I've read it you are using lemon juice for your skin and you must be in the sun, be sure to apply sunscreen as you could become more prone to sunburn.

I also use this lemon + honey combo for reducing my allergies.  It is allergy season and raw honey is said to help w/ allergies if you take some everyday. However, it's best if the honey is made locally as the honey should be produced by bees in the same environment in which you live.  By a process called immunotherapy, it's kind of like your vaccinating your body against the allergens. Kind of makes sense to me so I've been using it in hopes it will help rid my body of allergies.  Can't hurt to try.

I'm no expert but I do know what works for me and I also like to try new things as well.  Hope this helps someone.
